Website explaining all about inside and interior plantation shutters

Inside Shutters, How They’re Made, Designed and Applications for Interior Shutters

Welcome to our new website inside shutters. We created this site explaining all about interior plantation shutters to compliment our main shutter sales website house shutters where you can see galleries, and read all about us as well as read our interiors blog.

Although plantation shutters are not a new phenomenon in the UK, they are still relatively new to consumers. When we are thinking about window coverings, other traditional treatments for windows come to mind generally, including curtains, pelmets, even blinds which are mass produced and widely available. Window shutters on the other hand are not necessarily the first thing which people think of, but if you view our gallery you’ll see that many people are missing out on a truly exceptional and beautiful window covering. You can also read about the design of shutters and where and how to use them. We’ve worked with several other companies before setting up on our own including this one, and also click here to see another. The experience of working out in the field for B&Q was not just useful but essential in gaining our experience.

Most of the customers we talk to don’t know much about interior shutters, how they are made and what they really look like, what’s involved with manufacturing shutters and so on. That’s why we have made this side – and used a double name – “inside shutters” – meaning interior and explained! The plantation shutters we use are all made from hard woods, supplied by shutter manufacturers in the UK. They’ve been using shutters in the USA for ages and they are much more widely established as a window treatment as you can see here. However if you read this you can see they are getting much more trendy!

The reason we choose to supply wooden shutters is because they are most beautiful, you can get deep wood grains, and they suit most of the windows we fit them to the best. We can plane the wood down easily like any wooden product they can last a really long time if well looked after. So there are plenty of reasons for using wooden shutters for interiors rather than plastics, vinyl, MDF composites or other options. In fact the shutters we get are FSC certified which means that they cause no damage to the environment, because the plantations where they are grown are replenished and responsibly farmed. You can’t say that with plastic or composites! You can read more about the Forest Stewardship Council on their website. We’ve had some enquiries from the US with visitors asking where they can source good products across the pond, and we have spoken with several shutters companies who offer custom shutters and recommend visiting a few sites so we will do a further post on this soon. In the meantime inside shutters say why not check this company out for custom shutters in the US, they are well established and have an excellent customer service record.

We cannot say enough good things about window interior shutters when you find the right company to install them you are definitely going to get a window treatment which improves your house interior design with a long lasting stylish dressing which will have your friends jealous and envious! When you compliment these types of coverings with other household favourites like wooden floors and timeless book cases etc you are looking at a wonderful interior design to suit modern apartments as well as classic period properties. Many people as whether their home is suitable for this type of interior design approach and we firmly believe that they are flexible, space saving and ever so smart suiting many houses.

Inside shutters are installed within window frames on existing windows, either flush to the wall if there is no frame, or screwed into the wooden (or uPVC) frame itself. You can read more about the fixtures of inside shutters here.
